What Happens When You Fully Trust God?
5 Eye-Opening Insights
What if you ALREADY have everything you need? We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more. More money, more success, more stuff, and more recognition. Advertisements try to sell us the idea that if we buy this product or follow that plan, we'll finally become the person we've always wanted to be. But what if I told you that the equation for true joy and fulfilment isn't found in a product, a platform, or even your accomplishments? The truth is a simple but profound formula—it's you + Jesus=Enough.
When you align your heart with Christ, the things of this world lose their grip on you. You no longer need to chase someone else's version of success or happiness. Instead, you see that everything you need is already available in Him. You're not waiting for the perfect circumstances to fall into place or for some external upgrade to your life. Jesus fills your heart's bottomless void, and His grace is wholly sufficient. This scripture aligns with the message of releasing negativity and trusting in His strength within you.
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Read it again. Out loud. You can feel it, can't you? So ... What does happen when you FULLY trust God. Let's talk about these 5 Eye-Opening Insights.
1. The Power of Positivity
Negativity has a sneaky way of creeping into our minds and draining us of energy, joy, and hope. Maybe it begins with a small thought like, "I'm not good enough," or "What if I fail?" Before long, these thoughts build momentum, and you find yourself stuck in a cycle of doubt and discouragement. Negativity robs you of peace and prevents you from fully stepping into what God has already prepared for you. "God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile." These words of Max Lucado kinda resonate with that, don't they?
Yep when you're positive, everything changes. A positive mindset rooted in faith shifts your perspective. You approach your challenges with a can-do attitude, trusting that God is in control and empowering you every step of the way. Suddenly, problems that once seemed insurmountable become opportunities for growth.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that everything we truly need is already taken care of IN HIM:
"And my God will supply every need of yours
according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
When you cultivate positivity, you begin to operate from a place of trust and gratitude—deeply aware of God's provision in your life.
2. Gratitude Changes Everything
If you're reading this, you already have much to be thankful for. Pause for a moment and consider where you are right now. You're likely sitting somewhere with access to the internet, which means you have access to an expansive world of information and opportunity. You probably have a roof over your head. You've been given an education that opens countless doors. These are blessings that many people around the world can only dream of.
Brené Brown posited that "When we cultivate gratitude and joy, we are able to see the world through a clearer lens and lean into life's abundant beauty." Her words on gratitude and joy align seamlessly with the idea of cultivating a grateful heart and seeing life’s abundant beauty. I challenge you right now to pause and breathe deeply considering how you can continue your day in appreciation of life’s blessings, encouraging a mindset of gratitude.
Gratitude changes your heart because it takes your focus off what you don't have and centres it on everything God has already given you. When you start each day with a grateful heart, you can't help but notice the fingerprints of God in every detail of your life. Did you wake up this morning? That's a gift. Did the sunrise greet you with its warm glow? That's a blessing. Did you laugh with a loved one or experience the simple joy of a favourite song? Those moments matter, and they're evidence of God's goodness. Here is one of my favourite reflective songs that perfectly resonates this message!
3. You Are Not Alone
One of the most comforting truths of walking with Jesus is that you are never alone. Whatever you're facing, God is right there, walking alongside you. You don't have to face life's challenges in your own strength. When you feel weak, He is strong. When you feel lost, He is your guide. When you feel broken, He is your healer.
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."
I Peter 5:7
Maybe you're carrying some heavy burdens—finances, relationships, health, or anxiety about the future. Listen, friend, Jesus cares about it all. Don't be afraid to bring those worries to Him in prayer. The Bible says, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Isn't that amazing? The Creator of the universe genuinely cares about your heart, worries, and hopes.
4. Stop Striving and Start Resting
Another trap the world sets for us is the constant pressure to strive. Hustle culture tells us we must work harder, achieve more, and never stop pushing ourselves to the limit. And while there's nothing wrong with hard work or ambition, it's easy to lose sight of the peace and rest that God wants for us.
Jesus invites us into His rest. He says, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). How often do we overcomplicate life when the answer is as simple as going to Jesus? He doesn't ask for perfection. He doesn't demand that we check every box or achieve every goal. He asks us to come to Him, to trust Him, and to lay down the heavy loads we carry at His feet.
When was the last time you allowed yourself to rest in His presence? To sit quietly and soak in His peace? God never intended for you to carry the world's weight on your shoulders. Whatever is pressing down on you today, He's calling you to hand it over to Him and trust that He is big enough to handle it.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s message about taking the first step was: "Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase." Ha! I love that. Into the unknown, right? We still trust the unknown and foster something powerful: courage.
5. The Joy Found in 'Enough'
At the heart of it all is this truth—Jesus is enough. And by extension, you are enough with Him. You don't need to perform your way into God's love or earn His favour. He loves you for who you are, imperfections and all.
Realising you have enough, just as you are, brings a unique joy. It frees you from comparison, silences self-doubt, and anchors you in Him, reminding you that your worth isn't found in human achievement but in God's unchanging love.
You + Jesus is the only equation you need to live with purpose, peace, and joy. From that place of security, you can face life's challenges with resilience and confidence. Instead of striving for what the world says you need, lean into the promise that God has already provided everything you truly require.
A Gentle Reminder
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Matthew 6:33 echoes perfectly as a gentle reminder to prioritize your relationship with Jesus and trust that He will provide for you in every way. Today, take a moment to pause. Reflect on the blessings in your life and how Jesus has met your needs, big and small. Remember that you're not defined by what you lack but by the fullness of Christ within you. Breathe deeply, release the negativity, and step forward with gratitude and trust.
You + Jesus are equal enough. It always has. It always will.
